We all know the Game Commission will do what they want to do and claim it’s justified. I think if we all take it on our own not to purchase the doe tag and spread it around to our friends and campers to follow. Hey if we would get ten hunters in our favorite area not to get the doe tag theoretically that could be thirty deer saved plus a percentage of that could be the buck. I feel when you shoot a doe you take away three deer. It could work but would the hunters go along with it,”na”. I would just like to see a heard of deer jumping in front of me again. Not just the three n four. But as long as the Insurance and Timber people have their hands in it will only get worst.
The current setup is a joke. It should go back to the old rules. From what I hear there are hardly any deer left. I saw an article about the cottages in Cooks Forest that can’t rent their cottages out any more as there just are no more deer like there used to be.
I’m with you Jeff, go back to the old way. But you’ll hear from some people that will put the entire blame on other factors. I myself put a lot of the blame on insurance companies pressuring the Game Commission and the Timber business for eliminating the feed.. What is the number one tree that is timbered here in Pa.? “CHERRY”.& “OAK” two of the biggest feed for the deer. But still if we we’re to go back too the old way like you said even with the timber and insurance situation I think the deer population would increase. If the Game Commission won’t do anything then maybe it’s up to us hunters and not apply for the Doe licenses.
get a doe tag,
DON’T shoot a doe,
send your report card in saying you shot a doe,
the game commission will get all these report cards in showing a huge doe kill and they will be happy, the insurance co. will be happy and the timber co. will be happy and there will be more deer next year and more young bucks that won’t be shot as doe, button bucks.
spread the word!!!!!!
I think it would be good to eliminate a few years and maybe only in certain areas. Maybe the heard would come back a little more up north.
