Well I got skunked again this year, actually not really. I missed a 7 point twice later in the afternoon on the second day. After them 2 shots I removed my scope. I saw a definite 4 points on one side but he was in some thicker brush. I thought I seen bone on the left side but it didn’t matter all I needed was three. He was moving, not fast but I couldn’t get him in my scope right away. Shot, he jumped and took off. I waited a lil, started to move towards where I shot about 30 yards up the trail he was there again took off but again I couldn’t get him in my scope quick enough but shot. I truly believe if I was using the iron sights I would have got him. Right before I saw him 5 Doe came by me but I didn’t have the paper to shoot. Went in on Wednesday greeted a hunter as I was walking to the area I was the day before. Just about got there and BOOM behind me. Yep the guy I said good luck too. Heard him say “I got em” Thought he was talking to me but he had a friend close by. I decided to walk back and low and behold a 7 point four on one side and 3 on the other. Weird rack, the 3 grew inwards and low.

All in all it was fun, got my adrenalin going at least,

First day Matt Bones had Doe running in front of him. Got two shots off, one was a long shot the other she was movin fast. That’s it as far as Shakes Korner this year. The area we were in the first two days we only seen one Doe dragged out, heard about 30-40 shots all two days and that was it.

Next year we are hunting right by camp all walking distance. When we got back from hunting the second day for lunch Dan Bones and I went back to some campers I knew and low and behold there were a total of 8 deer hanging “one buck” all were takin by camp?????? Hehehehe. My buddie Ralf that has a camp there missed a 6 point behind his place.
